| | In this day and age, and in Greenwood, you don't really expect to come across a Chinese restaurant with that old atmosphere of plastic-covered low-relief wooden Chinese historical panoramas, cheap bar appointments, dingy rugs, and sticky silverware. But that's exactly what you'll find here, the one standout being their gimmick of collecting visitor business cards beneath the glass tops on their tables, so that you can see what boring jobs their other patrons have had while you wait for your food. The menu is prototypical Americanized Chinese. I tried the staple General Tso's Chicken, and it was nearly decent. Unfortunately my friends were not so cautious, and opted to eat shared-plate style, so I also had to sample some sort of "prawn" dish (shudder), and two very bland and unappetizing chicken dishes with tired-looking vegetables. These were not good at all. The middle-aged waitress of Chinese descent was amusingly bold, almost sassy--"That very good, you'll like it"--but unfortunately the food couldn't live up to her billing. I will do whatever I can to avoid eating at this place again. |
