| | Smallish Chinese joint in a pretty white neighborhood mini-mall, doesn't go for any particular "authentic" Chinese decor, but it is neat and comfortable inside. Plus it smells nice. Their menu is mostly just the standard stuff you find in any normal Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. Their tea is interesting--a smoother, thicker flavor, somehow, than what you find normally. The hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour. Many of the dishes were not particularly memorable, though none of them were bad. However, the chow mein, with huge, kinky, thick chewy noodles, was nice--the noodles, at least...the chicken and vegetable part was fairly unimpressive--and the thick fried eggplant in a sweet sauce was awesome. And this is coming from a dude who would normally never order any non-meat dish of his own volition. Prices are decent, dishes are large, and served quickly. All in all, I'm not sayin' I'd go back if I had my pick of places, but I wouldn't cry bloody murder if the people I was with really wanted to go there. Even if Wedgewood is kind of creepy. |
