| | | An absurdly non-stop violence-fest with style and weird controls. Your main character is slow and his Max Payne-ish slow-mo dodge roll doesn't last nearly as long and isn't nearly as useful. However, you seem to be able to take quite a few hits and can dish it out at least as well as you can take it and plus you're cel-shaded, which makes you a bad-ass. A triumph of dark anime design, the Japanese language with English subtitles a major key in establishing this mood.
Before you get used to the controls (I recommend remapping Run and Lock to the shoulder buttons so you can just pretty much hold them down without thinking about it) you spin around in circles shooting wildly; once you get used to the controls you strafe around in wide semi-circles, shooting and dodging simultaneously. Well, in your better moments; there's still gonna be a lot of wild shooting.
It's probably pretty short and all, I don't know, but if you want to shoot, and shoot, and shoot some more, and pretend you're necro and goth, then this is the game for you. And it's kind of fun to boot. |
