| Very cute 2D light-gun mini-game fest. The cuteness begins with the voice actress reading the katakana for menu items and page titles ("sto-ree mo-do!") and continues in the events themselves that include such pastimes as keeping ghosts from stealing the soul of a little girl in a cemetary, shooting trinkets at a circus side-show for a cute girl, skeet-shooting, grabbing fish out of a pond, and on and on. Each time I do "Story Mode" it's been a different selection of three events, and then there's Score Attack and Party Mode (round-robin score competition for up to four players). The events only last seconds each, and then (after entering a high score, if you got one) you're back to the main menu and have to load up another one--it'd be nice if there was a mode that could just stream one after the other. Still, the relentless cuteness factor makes it difficult to become frustrated with this game and the frequently polka-like music lulls the mind into a state of malleable bliss. It's probably even more fun if you have a lightgun-compatible screen to play it on. |
