This portable compilation of the first two Crazy Taxi games has a few problems, namely long initial load times (couldn't we have simplified the menus so that you don't have a load screen just to get to character selection?), and the loss of the original soundtrack by Offspring, due I think to licensing issues. The tracks that replace it are all right, but not quite as inspired.

Other than that, it's very well done. I think some of the textures, most noticeably the ground textures when you're stopped and the camera pitches down, are lower resolution than they used to be, but the overall look is identical to the original, the framerate is consistently high, and all the "Crazy" maneuvers can be pulled off with reasonable facility using the PSP's little control buttons. The extras included in the Dreamcast versions are all here, including the extra city in the first Crazy Taxi, and the mini-games in the second. The expansion to wide-screen mode is nice, and to my surprise, even though I meant just to cruise around a bit, I found myself back in the old addictive swing of ferrying bitchy passengers from place to place via high speed boosts, dashes, and drifts in traffic.

There is some kind of local LAN two-player mode, that I haven't tried.
