| 1993 Williams table based on the movie of the same name, with a semi-dark gothic look and richly animated dot matrix display, largely featuring a pair of creepy eyes that kind of respond to what's going on--at one point a friend of mine got them to cross (this might have been just as he drained a ball down a gutter), which I found amusing. I can't say too much about the gameplay as none of us lasted very long on it--it does have a bank of targets in the middle upper playfield, which is always dangerous for rebounds. There's a very cool multiball/magnaball bit where a locked ball from the upper right actually moves slowly across the center of the playfield, as if it's slowly descending a flight of stairs! You have to hit it to knock it off the magnet and get multiball play, otherwise it eventually reaches a lock on the lower left side of playfield and your multiball opportunity ends. Really neat and spooky feature. The ramps are metal, so even though this is a kind of later table, it's got the build quality I like. |
