| Stern, 1978. Such a sweet table. Great bells on this one as you light five differently colored "star" targets placed around the table, then hit the spinner they've juiced up at the upper right to start cranking in big points. The stars are spread out enough that they really keep you going around the table--and there's a rotating Special to hit on them after you've got them all lit, at some point. If you whip the ball up past the one top pop bumper, it cracks into the top rim of the table with a satisfying THWACK--no points in it, but it feels like you're getting away with something. Stars has a fairly high center post in the bottom drain, so you can actually let the ball roll down the flipper--on a perfectly tuned table it will--or so I've seen on the internet--bounce right over to the other flipper; on the one I played, it actually bounced right back up onto the *same* flipper. Still pretty cool beans. Lovely and colorful whimsical space art completes the tasty package! |
