Doesn't really seem to have anything to do with the prequel aside from the streamlined battle system where you choose options by pressing a direction on the D-pad, which is kind of nifty. I've only run around the beginning town (ye olde "loot the neighbors before embarking on your quest to become a man" type of thing) but came away with a very pleasant impression: the game seems to combine old-fashioned console RPG menus and conventions with a well-executed streamlined interface. For instance, you can set speech text to appear instantly rather than having to wait for it to scroll (the text doesn't have voiceovers). Just running around your house is a joy as the doors open automatically for you, searchable objects are easily identified at a glance, the characters are distinct and well-executed, and the atmosphere as a whole has an attractive, understated charm.
