Who could pass on anime fighting girls in a fantasy setting with a couple goofy males/monsters thrown in for the sake of variety? The art and FMVs look nice, the character models are passable (though some look funny in the joints when animating), there's a decent number of characters--what could go wrong?

Well, they fight like girls. I mean, girly girls. And calling the AI "dumb as posts" would be a grave insult to posts everywhere: this's the kind of game where you can get a perfect by pounding one or two buttons. And you'd be hitting about all of your character's useful move that way, too.

All the usual fighting game modes are covered here, plus you're treated to a "Story Mode" whose main challenge seems to consist in fighting off boredom and finger strain while desperately trying to skip all the Japanese dialogue--and normally this wouldn't bother me, but we're talking about lengthy dialogues between two cell characters against a static rocky plain. Maybe it picks up pace later on, I fear I'll never have the strength to find out.
