"Give up your perplexity, and destroy everything! It is the only way for humans to survive." So says an ancient tablet I picked up in this game's mythical land of Argus. Fortunately in Rygar you *can* smash just about everything with your big wrist-mounted metal yo-yo, using all kinds of ornate swings and combos.

Just about all I've done for the first hour, in fact, is smash statues, and occassionally fight some wormy things that pop out of the floor. But mostly statue smashing. Some of the statues actually give you experience pickups, so I guess they want you to smash them. Smashing stuff is pretty fun, I'll admit, but once in a while it would be nice to have something a little more lively to smash, and also there are these annoying invisible walls blocking you everwhere that make smashing less straightforward than it should be.

There's been one boss so far, very impressive visually, not that great in terms of gameplay. Most everything looks pretty nice in fact, even if they did have to cheat on the textures in certain places. So I've been running around this beautiful world smashing statues and some worms, trying to find the princess who looks like a de-skankified Britney Spears, if you can imagine such a thing, and trying not to fall asleep. Maybe something interesting will happen at some point.
