|The most fun I've had recently playing a Vs. Fighter, and that's probably thanks to the fact that the other guys didn't really know how to play it that well either.|
Certainly some of the moves seem pretty abusable (as the computer loves to demonstrate in the PS1 versions of the earlier games in the series) but the whole game has a wacky life to it, a hyperactive, offbeat animation, that I can't help but like. Playing this with damage set low is pretty interesting too as the battles become real attrition slugfests. And the wacky thing where you don't have rounds but just get right back up after you've been knocked out once makes a significant difference to the feel of the whole thing somehow--like you're got twice as far to go to win, even though really you don't, but it feels that way.
