Vertical shooter from Naxat Soft who once again pull off some impressively fast performance with lots of big sprites. Plus, boobies!

Pick either "Dragon" or "Phenix" and plow your way through wave after wave of big fast ships--or rather, they'll shoot across the screen and plow through you. You get a lot of powerups, at least, and a long health meter, but by the time the fifteenth wave of big tough round ship things has zoomed across the screen and fired bullets at you point blank, you may get a little weary. And then they start zooming up the screen from below you, and that's kind of where my patience ends. Oh yeah, and the bosses and minibosses love nothing better than to fire off a screen-spanning laser shot with no warning whatsoever. FUN.

The "burning" part is interesting, I suppose: the two characters share a certain energy meter and pressing Select will merge the two ships in to one bigger ship that basically turns in to a big controllable fireball. A full meter of that can take out a boss pretty well. It's a neat effect, though I suppose in two player it probably leaves one player with little to do. On the other hand, this game might be a lot more fun in two player because each player could cover a side, and greatly reduce the amount of things swooping in at you.
