A very fast and good-looking shooter with some rather frustrating bits. Your jetplane has a huge hit box, which can make this difficult to play if you're used to more recent shooters. But it's the obstacles that really annoy me: you'll be jetting along, blowin' stuff up like a good little jetplane, and all of a sudden the level throws you a nasty twist like two alternating vertical spokes that almost cover the entire screen height, or a long obstacle course of very narrow sloping chutes. It is so easy to die in those and it is not fun at all.

The game has some decent weapons but more could have been done with the weapon system itself, I think. When you blow up one of the powerup-carrying ships, it just bursts forth five or six different powerups in a big arc. You can usually grab three or four of these before they fall off the screen but most of them simply replace the previous one as a different secondary weapon (options, missiles, a rotating turret, etc), so the ones you really want are the big orange "P" powerups that give your main cannon more power.

The II button does most of the work, the I button being an unusual bullet-destroying charge shot that affects the whole screen instantly and can be used over and over, with a brief delay between charges. You can't shoot while it's charged, though, so it seems rather distracting to me. Sure you can use it to clear out a swarm of bullets coming at you from all directions, but you need about three seconds of free time to charge it up first, time which you could in most cases spend just as well in dodging around the bullets.

The game appears to support two player simultaneous but I haven't tried that yet.

Tried two-player. The frustrations remain.
