A rail shooter with slight dodging ability, like Vanark or Rez, but this time with a gigantic jet-powered sea turtle flying shotgun for you.

You and Gamera will lay waste to seemingly endless streams of nefarious little ships that swirl all around you, but fortunately you can turn your camera and guns 360 degrees as you fly down your scripted path. You can fire normal shots or hold down the fire button to illuminate their weak points so that Gamera nails them with some nasty turtle fireballs, or hold down the special Gamera button and send Gamera flying at them like massive bladed gyroscope, a move that is especially useful against the many huge and awe-inspiring bosses you'll face (and dey blows up so nice). Gamera gives off great giant jet-sea-turtle shrieks throughout. Ah, dear Gamera! This really should have been called "Gamera and Me."

Of course, better than anything else are the truly horrid FMV performances of the largely Western cast. The cute female Japanese co-star does what she can with her horrid lines and labored pronunciation but nothing beats the gorge-inducing performance of the white male lead who pulls off the fantastic achievment of being both scrawny and beetle-browed at the same time. Truly fantastic stuff.

Kill, Gamera, kill!
