The Wii ports have flickering taken out too, which is my only problem with them, but I don't know if it was done in this way. I think with Metal Slug 3 they just turned if off the same way the Neo allows (on later games) and broke off the knob. (n/t) from SignOfZeta.

Was the Neo way turning to make the shadows just full black all the time? I noticed that in the recent KOF 2000 PS4 port, they somehow made the shadows like 50% transparent, non-flickery. I got a tweet back from Code Mystics that seems to indicate that type of change isn't in their game plan, though (after I mentioned how it had been done in 2000, their reply two days later was simply "This isn't a port").
