Ah, the Terry sprite was prototyped for use in MotM2. There's no mention of an actual prototype of the game of course.

Because I translated the text and that's what he said. "Choujou Kessen" is the Japanese title of MotM and he specifically mentions "Choujou Kessen 2." If it was just some new sprite he made on his own he probably wouldn't bring it up in relation to a game that was never released.

Some extra context, the original post (on the game's promotional Twitter) to which Falcoon responded mentions something along the lines of: "people who know the game and the stage that make up the illustration are real SNK buffs." Seems like he was looking to score some major history nerd points.

Didn't SNK release a sprite sheet with a bunch of new characters for Mark of the Wolves 2 earlier this year? Even if they lost a lot of stuff throughout the years, I imagine a lot of it is just sitting in storage somewhere waiting for someone to rediscover it.
