Not digging the grungy, complicated environments with sort of realistic textures; doesn't feel as fun and fast as earlier, more abstract stuff. Feels distracting from the driving challenge I'm there for.

Judging by a user video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vfHEtkpw3I there are jet boosts and a boost meter, and cars may just go up on two wheels when steering down a track. Wikipedia's TrackMania page calls Turbo "a spin-off heavily inspired by 90s arcade racers."

The controls say L1 = "Turbo" but it doesn't do anything on the first track, at least, where Turbo--a jet boost--activates automatically when crossing two sections. The bright flame isn't too nice in the eyeballs in 3rd person but you can't see it in 1st person.

The control feels sluggish and floaty compared to Nations Forever. And there's a heavy emphasis on exaggerated drifting; I think two turns at the end of the first track require it and I am bricking them and can't even beat gold on the first track. ; D I don't dig drifting games generally.

Requires Ubisoft's online connect program.

There doesn't seem to be a site for it in the 3rd-party "exchange" site system for downloading maps ( https://tm-exchange.com/ ) so maybe you just can't do that with this one.

Doesn't have the intense, sharp rubber-on-the-road handling of Nations Forever.
