Williams seemed to have this mid-90's thing with big loud tables loaded with large plastic models. Medieval Madness has a forbidding looking castle at the top of the table with a drawbridge that raises and lowers to admit the ball. Cute. They left the middle of the table long and open, with long ramps on the sides, a layout type which I usually enjoy. But aside from the novelty of the drawbridge I didn't find a whole lot of interest here, and it's kind of hard to see much anyway since it's all dark grey plastic stuff. Oh, and you don't launch the ball with a spring-loaded plunger, you just push a big red button and the ball launches itself. LAME. I think there are missions to kill trolls or something. Loud digitized voices play whenever you do anything and I rapidly got sick of listening to sarcastic clips with egregiously bad "olde" English accents, and moved on.

The voices still annoy me. Today I found that if you can get the ball good and stuck, so that the table can't free it by itself (mine was caught on a wire lane-counter on the rear ramp), as it activates bumpers and traps trying to free the ball, it awards you points as if you'd hit the things. Not many points, but some. So in theory, you could just wait and eventually you would get the high score. Woo!
