Willful girl-child Fray runs amok through forest and ancient ruins killing various native beasts. Based on all the talking going on there's probably some kind of story behind it all, but I can't read any of it. Very bubbly and colorful with lots of spunky voice acting. The action itself is very simple: zap things with your magic staff, hold attack to whip out a big spell, or jump to avoid attacks and get across obstacles. All rendered in juicy overhead, slightly isometric view, with some impressively large enemies to battle.

In the beginning anyway language barrier hasn't been much of a problem, aside from not getting the story. The trickiest part was in the little village between stages (the stages themselves are literally quite linear, only scrolling up--at least so far) where it turned out that I had to talk to the gatekeeper, then to some shut-in in a house, then to the gatekeeper again, in order to get out of town. But there wasn't much else to try so it didn't take long to figure that out. Shops look intimidating at first but the item icons are pretty self-explanatory, and the buy/sell/talk interface is quite simple.

This looks to be an enjoyable light, if nearly sickeningly cute, action adventure.
