| | | Back when Jackie used to kick ass in Hong Kong instead of selling out to co-star in lame Hollywood action movies, his girlfriend got stolen by an evil wizard and Jackie decided to go kick his ass. The wizard had a lot of goons and wild animals, so Jackie had to kick all their asses first.
Hudson got some gorgeous sprites in here, Jackie in particular is a handsome beast though ironically here he is taller than most of his opponents. But this is his game so he can do whatever he wants, including throwing fireballs and using various special kicking moves that he collects on his way.
The smooth action, spot-on control, nice sound and brilliant colors make for an enjoyable game, and the variety of platforming elements, though nothing really new, have a pleasant presentation and pacing that makes me want to go back for more--so far the game hasn't taken cheap shots, and I've hit a few spots, involving balancing jumps across rotating platforms while jump kicking birds, perhaps, that made me want to shout "hell yeah!" after finishing them. I bet Jackie would have done that. |
