Known as "Spanky's Quest" in the States, this platformer pits you as a nut-tossing squirrel against a variety of funky, often floating bad sprites, usually in stages with a woodsy theme. Spanky's big battle schtick involves tossing up a nut or blue ball or whatever, then jumping into it to bounce it up higher as it comes down. He can do this repeatedly, and the ball/nut gets bigger and changes colors. Press the ball-throw button again to pop the ball, and out flies one or more sports-themed balls to crush your foes: from a single baseball up through a stream of soccer balls, an explosion of basketballs, and so forth. Spanky can also jump on top of his balls (hah) to reach high things.

Annnnd that's it in a nutshell. (Hah!)

Well okay, so you bounce your nuts along through platformy levels, taking out badguys in your path until you get to a boss, lala. The nut bouncing and popping can be tricky, especially when you have, say, a huge boss sprite swooping down at you. It seems like an inventive platformer, really, but the indirect parabolic nut fire is a little complicated for me (Mario would just throw fireballs. Why can't Spanky throw fireballs?).
