| I remember disliking this horizontal shooter fairly intensely, but I can't remember exactly why. The military aircraft setting was generic and uninspiring, to be sure, but it must have been something in the gameplay... Hm, well, I remember that your airplane felt big and clunky, and not so good at dodging, and that the game liked to put turrets behind obstacles, so you couldn't really get at them; oh, and even tiny turrets took a lot of hits to destroy. Also, although you could spend all the "money" you earned on an upgraded weapon, you could also use up that weapon very quickly, and then you'd be back to square one. Also, some of the weapons just plain sucked. Oh, and your ship had a big health meter, and there was some weird way of restoring health after you took a hit (oh yeah, mashing the buttons), and this was annoying. |
