How To Use Enric And Maya'S Alternate Skins As The Default In The Arena: Both Enric and Maya actually have 4 completely different looking texture sets. You'll see them if you have a fight between, say, 4 Enrics or 4 Mayas. You might like one the the other skins better than the default. Here's how to switch 'em so it'll become the new default. Uncompile "the_hero.atd." This has Enric's textures. Enric's default skin sets, black shirt with brown pants, are "bmp" files in the base directory of each of four subdirectories representing his appearance in the 4 arena levels: lavapit, arena1 (Mosh pit), arena3 (pit of ennui), and arena5 (pit of Love). His first alternate set of textures are in the "color1" subdirectories. These are chainmail and a red tunic. "color2" is a white knight outfit, and "color3" is an evil looking black knight set. To switch, say, the black knight look with the default, look in the color3 subdirectories. Note which files are there, then go up one directory level where you'll see all the "color" folders for whatever arena you're in (you'll want to do this in all four of the arena directories). In the outer directory you'll see all the files that were in the color3 directory, plus a few more. Select only the ones in the color3 dir, and copy then into a new directory, named, for instance, color4. Then go back into color3 and copy all the files there into the base arena directory. This will overwrite the files there, but that's why you just made copies of them in color4. Now, delete the color3 directory, and rename color4 to color3. Voila! You've swapped the two skin files. Now go do that for each of the other three arenas, recompile "the_hero.atd," copy it into your DBTS "data" directory, and there you go. Follow the same procedure with Maya. Her atd is "fem_hero.atd." Her default look is a bikini mail top with brown leggings. color1 is a bright red top with matching leggings and hair. color2 is a black goth outfit with a black jacket, high black leather boots and black hair. color3 is a bikini mail outfit with white accessories and blond hair. None of them look too practical, of course. You may also want to change the colored halos that surround the character heads in the match setup screen to mirror the switches you made to the texture sets. These halos are "bmp" files in the mainmenu.atd. Enric's are the_glo0.bmp, the_glo1.bmp, the_glo2.bmp and the_glo3.bmp. Likewise Maya's are fem_glo0-fem_glo3.bmp. Switch these in the same order that you switched the texture sets. So if you switched Enric's default skin with the "color3" set, then switch the_glo0.bmp with the_glo3.bmp. Don't forget to recompile the atd when yer done.
