I don’t own Fatal Fury 1st Contact so I don’t remember if SD illustrations of the boss brothers are in the manual or not. They aren’t on the box, US or JP.

very strange!!! in looking this up I remembered the unlockable multiplayer-only character Lao, who I never got to play because I never played the game against anybody else.

This is the main image for the game when you download it on Nintendo Switch. I actually downloaded it mostly to play Lao. His moveset is pretty funny!

The game does feel kinda half-assed compared to the other fighters on the system. Perhaps they rushed it out the door, scrapping some characters in the process?

Yeah, they either ran out of time/money or the ROM size was the issue. Its also possible that since those two are honestly pretty boring that they cut them and put the weird ones in like Alfred since they are more interesting...but made this choice after the concept art was done. Its honestly kinda fuct that Alfred is in there but not Franco or Blue Mary or Bob or Duck King.

Yeah! Although it is kind of fun that Alfred is there and that this is the only game with playable Lao. (although I really wish they had made him playable in single player)
