But now I'm looking at ebay prices and the prices I'm seeing here are maybe half of ebay? or 1/3? this platform sure did go bonkers at some point. Maybe I should finally buy Cotton while I'm out here.

I haven't checked eBay for games in years but back in January I was doing a bunch of selling (not games, still hoarding mine) and noticed Cotton was going for something like $1500. Allegedly, anyway. There were a couple completed auctions at that price. It made me feel kind of ill to see that. But it's also nice to know I'm apparently sitting on 50-100k in merchandise (pre-eBay fees) if I ever have to live off video game sales. I'm guessing you should probably buy Cotton. I paid something like $60 for Densha De Go! when I was in Japan and felt kind of guilty for spending that much. That was in 2013, almost 10 years ago - I wonder how dismayed I'll be if I ever get the chance to go back.

yeah, there's a place out here selling cotton for $180. feels weird though!!!!!!!! prices are sure not going down, that's for sure. I think some platforms like Saturn have leveled out, but some are still going up, like ngpc, wonderswan, and pc engine.

Also what's it like with essentially no tourists there? It'd be really funny if Super Potato went out of business with no French and UAE buyers to gouge. I get the feeling from people I know in Japan that there's a sort of tenuous sensation of decline not necessarily caused by the pandemic but certainly accelerated by it. But then the people who move to Japan tend to be a little moodier anyway.
