Direct predecessor to Hudson's "Star Soldier" (see entry 264 for comments on the GC remake of that title), I think, as that game came out on the system just one year later and also features a tiny ship rocketing upscreen over a series of tile-based outer-space land platforms guarded by a variety of squarish enemy ships who move in formations around the screen. As in Star Soldier, blowing up certain tiles will net you bonus points. You don't get a point bonus for taking out a whole wave of ships, though.

Moves quickly, with responsive controls, but has spots of slowdown. Not very difficult at first but then sort of gets tough pretty quick. Star Force is a little simpler than Star Soldier but has the same appealing detailed graphics and fast shooting action.
