A port of one of the lamer Neo*Geo fighting games without much to recommend it aside from some nice music and wacky characters (mmm... Roomi...) and having been something of the precursor to Sunsoft's far superior Waku Waku 7.

The game has 2d zooming and scaling like Samurai Shodown but in the PS port the characters have devolved into horrible pixellated monstrosities at the highest zoom level. The backgrounds have lost a few of the cooler effects they had on the Neo*Geo (the water stage, for instance) though some have gained a hefty helping of slowdown--the slowdown and pixelization of the last pulsing boss stage are downright nausea inducing, and the cheapness and stupidity of the boss don't help the situation.

Indeed, character balance and gameplay were never Galaxy Fight's strong suits: the floaty jumps, infinitely scrolling backgrounds, essentially single attack button, and downright useless moves of some of the characters, make battling your way through single-player something of a chore, not helped by the irksome load times.
