Q*bert was a weird-ass game. A dude with no arms and a big snout jumps around on floating stair-step pyramids, changing the color of the steps he lands on, while a coiled purple snake and other weird creatures hop after him. If he gets caught, he curses wildly before falling to his doom.

The downloadable PS3 version, available from the PlayStation Store, seems fairly faithful to the original--not that I'm an expert. But it's 2D, and the screens look relatively similar. There's some odd aliasing, perhaps because of aspect ratio differences? There's a "Soften" option to blur the aliasing out, but it's a little too blurry, and doesn't blur the moving sprites, so it looks kind of odd.

There's an online leaderboard, which is a little weird (maybe all PS3 leaderboards are like this for all I know) in that it lists 200 positions, but only keeps the first 100, as far as I can tell.

Anyhoo, this is a surprisingly faithful rendition of the arcade "classic," sporting the addition of old arcade-cab style character artwork around the colorful screen border. It isn't quite pixel-perfect, but pretty close.
