Playing "Single-player - Preseason" matches in Tecmo Bowl Throwback on PS3! It's a remake of the Super Nintendo version of Tecmo Super Bowl.

So yeah this whole time I was looking for the hidden--since they didn't have rights to the real player & team names--"Bo Jackson"-alike on one of the two "Los Angeles" teams (LA, with the dog emblem, and LOS, with the wings emblem; LA has far better team stats, but the LOS RB has better individual stats--and when you pit LOS vs LOS, the 2P LOS helmet changes from the wing on orange to a blank (at least on the visible, left, side) silver helmet, similar to the helmets worn by the LA Raiders, which was Bo's team) in this sorta remake of SNES Tecmo Super Bowl, a game that came out in 1993...and not really finding a back that could bust out those stupid long runs he could do! Aaaand as I found when I looked it up near the end of this video, that would be because Bo had a football-career-ending hip injury in '91, whereas the SNES Super Tecmo Bowl--but not the NES version, which came out two years earlier, in '91--based its roster in the 1993 Bo-less NFL roster, so Bo was sadly absent on the SNES, and thus not in this PS3 remake version of it, either--even under an assumed name.

Dang!

The Emmitt-alike on Dallas was doing okay.

Anyway, hopefully the original, PRG0 version (Dickerson still on the Indy roster) of NES Tecmo Bowl that I got off eBay this morning will show up and dump okay. ^ )^

Ended up kinda getting into this PS3 remake of SNES STB, remembering my stupid old TB defense approach of blitzing every down with the screen-top outside linebacker ; D. I suppose NOT having a game-breaking RB made the games a bit more tense. : PPP They did about as good a job with it as they could have--he says, not actually having ever played the SNES STB, and maybe not even the NES one; we'll just set the graphic default setting to 2D and forget about the pretty bad 3D graphics mode, even if the mid-play real-time morph you can do between the two is sorta impressive. 'p'

Oh dang the arcade original with like two teams and just a few plays or something is out in Arcade Archives for PS4 but it's got lots of color flashing FX, guess I'll have to leave it.
