Sonic CD is the version remade in a new engine by Christian Whitehead--who went on to make Sonic Mania--that was delisted from Steam when Sega put it in the new Sonic Origins collection--but it's still available on the PS3 store ($4.99). The Sonic CD intro was made for the original Mega CD version by Studio Junio ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_CD#Design ), who made the game's cutscenes along with Toei Animation ( https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Creator/StudioJunio )--so not a modern Tyson Hesse joint and I was babbling on about him pointlessly--although I suppose there's a good chance the style of this intro strongly influenced HIS style. Runs in 1080p. Reverts to a blurry filter each time it starts, which is sort of annoying--you gotta go switch it to the no-filter "Nostalgia" setting in the options menu if you want less blur (but it's still SLIGHTLY blurry even after that, hrm). |

| | You can pick between the JP (default) and US OST. It's actually more than a bit blurry even when set to Nostalgia. : P |

|
| | The original Sonic CD came out a year AFTER Sonic the Hedgehog 2--CD was developed by Sega in Japan, while 2 was made by Sega Technical Institute in the 'States, where Mark Czerny hired Naka after Naka left Sega of Japan in dissatisfaction after Sonic 1. But CD appears between Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 in the Sonic Origins compilation because CD's story is set between the stories of Sonic 1 & 2. |
