Sonic fan game, free download from https://ultra-ring.itch.io/sonic-legends-trial-version Didn't quite beat that one guy, drat! Feel and looks and sounds super good! Love the drop dash (press and hold Jump in air). I learned afterwards by watching a video from a much more Sonic-knowledgeable person https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEjc1iH62W8 that Sonic Legends aims to represent not just one Sonic game, but one Sonic FAN GAME with each stage! Which hmm maybe throws this into dicier territory since okay Sega is cool with games based on its stuff, but it isn't clear if the makers of the fan games this is based on are cool with games based on their games, you know? I guess if I find out that they are, I'll just take the darn video down. It looks like at least some of the main creators of the referenced fan games are listed in the "Special Thanks" section of Legends' credits so hopefully this has all been sorted out to everyone's satisfaction! So going off info from a comment by @gmzsonic on that video I linked in the previous paragraph, the Sunrise Gate Zone in the demo is based on Sunrise Gate Zone Act 1 in the 2014 fan game demo Sonic Overture ( https://sonicfangameshq.com/forums/showcase/sonic-overture-sage-2014-demo.44/ ) (which separately JUST GOT a re-creation by ANOTHER fan team just weeks or so after Sonic Legends as Sonic Overture '95 ( https://sonic-overture-team.itch.io/sonic-overture-2023-demo )), and Panic City Zone is based on Metropolis Madness - Panic City from the 2006 Sonic fan game demo Sonic Utopia ( https://scaleyfoxy.weebly.com/sonic-utopia.html ) (a 2D game, not to be confused with a 3D demo called "Sonic Utopia" from 2017). The trial version's attract sequence credits video that plays I think automatically if left on the title screen for a bit or something uses background video from the credits sequence of the anime Mahoromatic (like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lNos8KeymE ), and will cause YouTube to outright BLOCK a video containing it from playing due to a severe copyright claim; Bandai Namco isn't quite as into Sonic fan games as Sega, apparently. The trial version doesn't have controller support so I used the JoyToKey utility to map the keyboard controls to my DS4. Project lead ScarlyNight is from the Netherlands, according to their pop-up profile at https://www.sonicfangameshq.com/forums/showcase/sonic-legends-true-sunset-shore-sage-2020-version.506/ |

| | Drop Dash apparently first appeared in Sonic Mania: https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Drop_Dash ;per that previous sage 2020 link, Sonic Legends was a SM mod at one point. |
