From the Steam version of Namco Museum Archives Volume 1 (see entry 1787): I extracted the ROMs from the Steam version using MArchiveBatchTool: https://github.com/farmerbb/RED-Project and played them in Mesen.

These look designed for square pixels; at NTSC screen ratio they are slightly too wide: oval Pac-Man, rectangular Dig Dug dirt, etc.

OH so when the big red cat hides behind something, they aren't waiting to leap out at you--take the item they're hiding behind, they hold up a "1000" bonus sign!

Hadn't realized you can bounce up into the attic. = o Later stages put bells above the outer shafts: knock bells onto cats for big combos.

NES Mappy video gets riddled with music copyright claims. Doesn't happen w/ PS4 Arcade Archives, which is harder, probably due to the narrower vert screen.

There's a "30th Anniversary" patch on romhacking.net that usesd the Mappy Kids sound driver to change the music to close to the arcade version. This has the bonus of not triggering copyright claims on YouTube, just like the Arcade Archives version doesn't.

The standalone patch is a .bps, which doesn't work on the ROM extracted from Namco Museum Archives Volume 1. However, another hack, the Mappy Graphics Patch or something, includes a version that has the 30th Anniversary music patch in it as well, and as an .ips patch that does work with the NMAV1 Mappy ROM.

However, it from the 30th author's (Google Translated) description, it sounds like that patch is using material pirated from Mappy Kids, so eh, oh well. Still stuck with the Arcade Archives version I guess. : P OR I'll just play the Archives version and let YouTube slice it up anyway!
