Playing through Joe & Mac Returns, using the "joemacr.zip" ROM placed in an install directory of the Steam game "Retro Classix: Joe & Mac Returns," running in MAME 0.262 from the Windows 11 command line! It's a sequel to "Joe & Mac - Caveman Ninja," also in Retro Classix.

The prequel--Caveman Ninja / Joe & Mac--was a Bonk's Adventure rip-off but this is a Snow Bros. rip-off and the controls are actually good and the graphics are quite nice but the game seems to have put a lot of work into a) putting all sorts of obstacles in the way of making combos, so it's just frustrating to play, and b) having the cavemen perv on the cavewomen, whom of course they have to rescue because it's enforcing male-imposed gender stereotypes and fantasies, and it gets just lame and gross.

I was really bad at this game and felt bad afterward about the experience of playing it.

(The Mega Drive version of Snow Bros. looks pretty good but is unspeakably expensive for some reason. ; D)
