| | Starting out in Ninja Gaiden II for NES, played in Mesen with Infinite Lives and Infinite Time (that cheat, SXVKLTVG, wasn't in Mesen--got it from https://gamehacking.org/game/30422). The smooth action of the first game is impeded by boring writing and enemy designs, and obnoxious stage hazards such as wall-crawling, fireball-firing slimes, and entire stages of fighting against alternating wind or water currents, or lightning flashes. = P And the early stage graphics are more simplistic, although they do get a bit better later. |

| | Oh yeah forgot to mention the flickering ghost ninja followers who make everything hard to see--including the overly frequent ambushers from behind. : P |
| | The masochistically hard bosses are kind of the best part of this 'cause with save scumming it's just a matter of picking your way through which is actually kind of fun in a funny way. Stuff like the slippery ice stage and the part with walls in front of your view is not so fun--and the nearly non-stop multi-directional ambushes! Urgh. The worst part is the story, it just gets more and more hackneyed, yikes! |

| | III has a floaty jump. : P I think if I do play this one again I'll try avoiding the "option" ninja powerups--probably by save-scumming. A no-flicker run! ^ _^ |

| | Of all the platformers I tried in my "maybe I should get into platformers" kick this year, this is the only one I keep thinking about. = ooo |
