| | Not strictly the sequel to Hyakujyu Sentai Gaoranger, but unquestionably its descendent in the silly-costumes-beat-em-up genre. QCF/QCB fighting-game-style moves for the different rangers, as well as various hand-to-hand weapons, mini-game sequences, and button-mashing segments certainly add depth and variety to the highly formulaic gameplay of the earlier game, but sacrifice some of its beautiful punch/kick simplicity. I'm particularly not that keen on having a Jump button for the on-foot segments, but ah well. All is forgiven to Bandai for their inclusion this time around of two-player co-operative play, so that now instead of fighting alongside a CPU teammate (which you can still do, of course) you can fight alongside your buddy Charles who gets a bit too excited and spills Dr. Pepper on your carpet. That's okay, though, because you can have your hideous revenge on Charles in the full-fledged Vs. mode, whose character selection screen seems to indicate over 20 characters to choose from once you've unlocked everything. Not quite as charming as Gaoranger but quite a bit more to do. |

| | ...from Bandai, is what I meant. Hm, I should fix that. |
