| | Really fast futuristic racing with gorgeous graphics. Definite arcade feel here in Sega's first F-Zero. The speed is addictive (you just want to keep pumping that Boost button even though it drains your craft of precious life force) and the visuals make it hard to put down. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot to Story Mode but the various Grand Prix challenges will keep you busy, and of course there's a ton of stuff to unlock in the usual Nintendo fashion. It's a rush so far, I wonder how long it will last though. Having someone else to compete against in Time Attack mode would help, no doubt. I've tried it three-player split-screen and it just wasn't that fun, but I'm not sure if that was because of the gameplay or because it was really hard to see what was going on in just a quarter of the usual screen size. |

| | I think this game is too fast for me, at least on the projector; I actually start feeling nauseous after playing it for a while. Or should I say, trying to play it: I've forgotten the controls, if I ever knew them, and just side-spin-swiping another car seems absurdly complicated. And all the cars are so tiny and hard to see! I don't know. I'm really bad at this game and it's making my head hurt. |
