| | Compilation of three highly-obscure early arcade games. The tate-mode vshmups Vulgus and Exed Eyes turned out big disappointments with fudgy movement, bad sound, and just generally a lack of anything real fun to do. SonSon, a platformer that scrolls to the right, more of a horizontal shooter with vertical layers really, provides some entertainment but not really that much. Gad, the ennui, eh? Pirate Ship HigeMaru, fortunately, provides some good fun with barrel-maze monster squishing strikingly similar to Wonder 3's "Don't Pull," only with less attractive graphics and deeper gameplay as the baddies can jump into the barrels and use them as armor. |

| | Vulgus has flashing enemy ships. Exed Eyes movement IS sludgy. SonSon feels more responsive here than in Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium (see entry 1662). |

| | In DuckStation, I'm not feeling sludgy movement in these. But Exed Eyes is kind of boring aside from enemies looking around behind you, which is annoying. HigeMaru has constantly flashing barrels, and the rest of the graphics are a bit washed out. |
