| | After being treated to some of the most stylish little anime intros you're likely to see on the PC Engine, you'll find yourself plunged face-first in to a truly awful game. You run or jump-jet along as a mech, sorta horizontal shooter style, with big sprites and shooting and lots of parallax in the backgrounds. That's the good side. The bad side includes such highlights as intense and unpredictable slowdown, large amounts of large sprite flickering, control so horrible it feels as though your robot is steering opposite to the direction you want him to go, and fantastic stage design consisting of a random smattering of enemies, 200 yards of featureless floor and an end boss, who you can reach by just jump-jetting over the aforesaid enemies and whose magnificent attacks consist of pointing his gun at you while your mech flashes. You really can't imagine what a stinky, nasty mess it makes piled all together. It really is bad. No, really. |
