In Taito's original Rainbow Islands (which can be found in "Taito Legends," entry 945, among others), you clambered up high stages of pest-infested platforms by creating solid arcing rainbows, which served as fancy stairways. In this DS update, you still need to get to the top of such stages, but now your little man is floating inside a bubble, draggable with the stylus, and he can create rainbows of any shape and position by drawing them on the screen. Slash the stylus right across a badguy and a rainbow lances through him, taking him out, and usually leaving you a tasty treat in return.

And that's pretty much all I saw of it. Seemed pretty okay, with bright, vibrant 2D graphics, fairly fast-paced action, and easy input, or at least as easy as stylus input can get--no buttons required here. You don't have to pay attention to the top screen during gameplay as far as I noticed, which is a blessing. I was slightly confused as to how many hits I could take from obstacles or enemies, but I suppose there was probably a health meter or something around somewhere that I wasn't noticing.
