glad it's not bad if you had it. we somehow survived y2k together here on s:ngp after all. truthfully, it's the shutdown that is going to cause major economic woes. i'm totally f'd, they just shut down all non-essential businesses here. not even sure sure how to pay my bills, i hope you guys all the best.

i have no idea how any american is going to make it through this, aside from the folks who had digital jobs. it's going to be incredibly terrible. hope you do okay out there :\

thanks, exodus. i will survive. i must be part cockroach. the problem is the relief packages were too late. same with containment from transmission from abroad. i've survived my business bankruptcy a few years back due to divorce. i have a lot of debt now. but i know what to do. i just pulled out of two leases and my next lease ends in a month. i pretty much have no choice. i made like 40 dollars in sales since the 20th of last month. every week a brick and mortar shop of mine was closed. my last one was closed yesterday by state decree. now i have to remove all my inventory fast. i'll just switch to online sales. my problem with this is the damage is already done. not even sure what to make of the new stimulus package. i read that crap at the sba and i'm not hiring anyone to translate that to me. not sure what to make of the future of the economy but it seems fubar.

the relief packages are also piddlingly small. in singapore they're paying 75% of all employee's wages for 3 months. what kind of shop were you running? and what are you supposed to do about rent for your shops, i saw that there was something about how businesses could borrow from banks, but that doesn't help at all, that just makes the problem worse later.

i said "borrow from banks" because you can't use the word "l04n" on the board i think

i was renting several spaces in antique stores in small towns. selling old books, antiques, and vintage military surplus. luckily two were month to month. the other one is charging me rent and i still have next months rent to pay. pretty much missed the busy season. sales are always slow during the summer. i'm just putting everything in my garage and i'm selling the stuff i can ship online. i'm not going to borrow anything. i won't get a relief payment either. guessing it was or will be given to my ex-wife. just worried about the long term what the shut down will do. there's a lot of unemployed people now. guess we'll find out what happens.
