The argument against the package is that *everything* else is simply a rom being emulated, which... you could do with more options on your own :P (n/t) from exodus.
Apparently the ROMs themselves actually came, not from deep in the SNK archives, but from a torrent. So not only did we all download the same thing 15 years ago but we got it the same way they did. I'm all for donating money, I just don't consider this much of an incentive, which is fine, because I don't need much incentive to part with $10.
It's hard to say anything unflattering regarding a charity, but personally I think that needs to change. Not every cause is cause-worthy, and not every generous gesture something one should feel proud about. If people were allowed to call out faults and failures without being seen as total jerks then maybe we'd have a higher status quo of charitable causes.
