Exactly. This is exactly my point too and I'm kind of a dick about it. I'll relax when I see any Bluray player that's as fast as the slowest Laserdisc player I've ever seen but aparently that technology is somewhere in the future...always in the future, further in the future every year aparently since shit just keeps getting slower and less reliable. We are officially past the point where doing your taxes is easier than playing a video game and that is STRAIGHT FUCKED. "Progress" is not a single line to travel, there are multiple paths and definitions of success. It's not progress that bothers me but this particular flavor of it.
I bought Yoshi's Wooly World yesterday. I put it in the machine, no updates needed, played for an hour and went to bed. I enjoy these simple moments with current yen stuff because I guess it's not going to be around anymore.
