I do use a CRT though, currently a 17" VGA monitor via a Key Digital transcoder thing, long discontinued, specifically aimed at owners of X Box 1 and Cube (progressive scan only) who want to convert YPbPr to RGB.

This allows you to play GB games in low res on the GBP, at a slightly more accurate refesh rate. Second, funnily enough I popped in Link's Awakening DX in the GBP two days ago. I don't think it looks particularly good on a television. But then I feel that a lot of GBC games use a muddled color palette. As for suggestions... maybe Wario Land 3? I find it a chore to play, but it looks the part. from Rockman Pocket.

Yeah, you need a way to play homebrew on the Cube to use the GB Interface. I bought one of those cheap SD Loaders by Datel and it does the job just fine. Your setup seems to be a bit unusual though, converting component to RGB. Doesn't the US Cube output RGB natively?

I don't think it does, but YPbPr is essentially identical. Do you use a regular SNES SCART cable for RGB or do you need something that goes in the D Video port? The official solution for the US is the Game Cube Componant Cable which does go in that port and outputs up to 480p. If the effect you are describing is achieved at 240p only then this trick won't work unless I use a different display. I have a 27" JVC I'd use for that (currently used for a cracked Wii, looks dynamite). At the moment I wanted some decent video game setup downstairs in the basement so I took an old computer desk thing, folds up pretty and all that, and stuffed it with the 17" VGA monitor and two systems that could easily use it: Dreamcast and Cube. It's been a lot of fun going through those libraries again. F355 is honestly even more fun than I remember, btw, and F Zero still looks amazing.

The PAL Cube at least outputs RGB with the official Scart RGB cable. Seems like the Cube is actually a complicated beast when it comes to signals. Check out the site retrorgb.com, those guys explain GC signals way better than I ever could. It obviously won't help in finding nice looking GBC games to play, but maybe there's a trick there to get more out of your current setup.
