I got back into NGP again lately. I can't remember how to use my Neo Pocket Flash Master and for some damn reason Cool Borders is the only game on it now. (Blech.) I just to flash it with something better like Metal Slug 2. Can someone remind me how it was done? It doesn't seem to mount on the desktop but I know I used it with my previous Mac somehow. Also, are there any cool translations for NGP I might want to play?

There's the translation for CFC2, but I suppose the DS version made it obsolete? Or is the DS one a new game? I can't really tell from the Wikipedia entry. : P

Yeah, Flavor made the Flash Master and hacked CF2 into English *and* made a DS ROM that was basically the translated CF2 and an NGP emulator. All of these are more interesting than SNK’s actual Card Fighters game for DS. I was hoping for something like Biomotor 2 or Nige-ron-pa.

Dammit the n button, too. Prolly bong water. Anyway, I got into the time attack mode in Metal Slug 2nd Mission a few months ago, the game is worth a play through at least I’d say. With one of those flash carts tho, and your chops, I’d say a legit run through of Nigeronpa is in order...and lots of baccarat.

I had Metal Slug 2nd back in the day but traded it away so I know it pretty well. Baccarat is the worst game in the casino though. Is there something special about the NGP version? I see that Rompa has a fan translation so I’ll try to find that.

Yeah. It came out right when NGP distribution was tapering off so it wasn’t easy to get in the US at least. I probably would already have it if it had been. I found the ROM and the patch but I’m still looking for an ips tool that the current version of OSX hasn’t broken. Then I guess I’ll try to get the flash cart fired up. Fuck. It’s so much easier to just bumble through it in Japanese (not a lot of kanji in handheld games) but as you say, it’s expensive. Why did I leave shitty ass Cool Borders on this thing before forgetting how to use it!?!

I got it! There is a switch on the cart, in one mode you flash in the other you play. Software is FlashMasta from Flavor's site.

Is it future proof? I mean, does it require ANY software at all other than dragging and dropping files? If it does, fuck it. It'll just expire like every flash card I've ever had. Either it will be a POS and die or it will require keeping around a vintage computer just to use it which can be even more frustrating.
