Toyota quality dominates all others, it really does. That being said the Insight is one of those cars Honda does a better job of (Fit based, sold in Japan, probably made there too) as opposed to the designed/built for/in Ohio stuff like the Pilot or USDM Civic which quality is...ehh...up and down. They are the only two hybrids I’d buy. Both are great choices as long as you don’t like responsive ride/handling/power because both have zilch of either. Both are super ugly on the outside but I greatly prefer Honda interior to Toyota. This is why I have a Fit but also a VW because seriously it makes or breaks long road trips to have a “real” car. We couldn’t have two real cars though. The financial risk would be too great. One has to be a Honda that costs me zero in parts for years on end to make up for the borking I get at the VW dealer. Just don’t buy the VW and you’ll be good, I guess that’s what I’m saying. (n/t) from SignOfZeta.
also you have to not care about looking out the rear view window because it's just like... for show? you can't see anything out of it in either car and have to use side mirrors exclusively. I've driven both insights and priuses and I can say without a doubt that the insight is the worst honda I've ever driven, but the one I've driven is from like 2014. For that reason I'd kind of tend toward the prius because a) it seems to have a bit of power sometimes and b) it's not just a disappointing honda :P
