dodonpachi DAI-OU-JOU and ESPGaluda if you like Mushihimesama, obviously. There's also Ibara, I guess. Gacharocku and Gacharocku 2 are fun party games. SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos is interesting. Street Fighter Alpha Anthology & Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection. Virtua Fighter 4. 3rd Strike (or SF Anniversary Collection if you can use the NA version I guess).

There's also SNK stuff that didn't come out widely elsewhere, like Battle Coliseum, KOF XI, NeoWave, '94 Re-Bout, plus all kinds of collections of NEOGEO games, some of which have fairly unique little features or options. There's the KOF Maximum Impact games, although my experience is minimal and confined to the first one. Oh yeah and there's Capcom Fighting Evolution/Jam, I suppose! Sorry I'm pretty much only covering fighting games but that's where my interest lies at the moment.

Looking more for games that weren't released outside of japan. For Ddonpachi and ESPgaluda I have the bootleg PGM carts. Is KOF94 Rebout worth it? I have the AES cart

Nah, not unless you're dying for 3d backgrounds, high-rezzified sprites and an expanded practice mode.

look at everything in the simple 2000 series, like zombie vs ambulance, the daibijin, etc. garouden breakblow and garouden fist or twist are cool weird "manly" fighting games with cool mechanics and a unique look. also check out bujingai, ribbit king, disaster report and raw danger, Extermination (swery survival horror), spy fiction (swery MGS-like), mr mosquito, michigan (suda51 walking sim), strecth panic. As for RPGs, I can't really think of a single PS2-exclusive RPG I'd recommend. Shadow Hearts maybe?

I got a used PS2 about...10 years ago or more and it’s probably the least played system I’ve ever owned. I was excited about getting one since it has SO many games but the only one I really played a lot of was Outrun and I actually played the PSP version a lot more. I’m not sure what it is about the PS2 but I just don’t play the thing. I barely touched FirePro Returns but I have insane hours on earlier versions like S and D. Is there an Assault Suits game for this system? Maybe that’s what I need.

there is an assaults suits valken for it. I think PS2 games were sort of the tail end of padding games so they'd last forever through grinding, which is why I don't spend as much time with it, but there is a lot of good stuff on there. Just gotta find your niche I guess.
