I wondered that as well. The notice on the charity page does mention they have prior history together, making it sound as though he assisted them with some sort of game thing in the past, although it doesn't specify what that was. I've read that SNK games have had bouts of popularity in part of the Middle East--Khushnood Butt and all that--so possibly it was natural they'd have come to his attention as a gamer? Also, they're probably somewhat unusual among well-known-ish game companies in being publicly listed on the South Korean stock exchange; perhaps that made them particularly easy for him to invest in (could he even be banned from investment on say US and Japanese stock exchanges?).
