The notice on the charity page does mention they have prior history together, making it sound as though he assisted them with some sort of game thing in the past, although it doesn't specify what that was. I've read that SNK games have had bouts of popularity in part of the Middle East--Khushnood Butt and all that--so possibly it was natural they'd have come to his attention as a gamer? Also, they're probably somewhat unusual among well-known-ish game companies in being publicly listed on the South Korean stock exchange; perhaps that made them particularly easy for him to invest in (could he even be banned from investment on say US and Japanese stock exchanges?). I think he just likes the stuff, Neo Geo, and now he controls the whole company. I’ve read people are saying it’s part of a broader scheme to diversify Aramco’s portfolio or whatever but that’s nuts. A single tanker full of oil would buy every third party publisher in Japan. Get real, the guy’s a goddamned otaku. He’ll probably bring the company out of the discount bin of mobile phone hell too but I’m not buying any of it ever because fuck that piece of shit.
Sorry, they don’t let you swear like that in forums much anymore and I just wanted to take advantage of it.
