no, the sfII remake was the proving ground for "street fighter can be successful again" but it wasn't hinged on his design specifically. it was just a new successful street fighter game from the US side.

Oh, I was thinking of something else: I looked up the development of IV trying to figure out what you meant, and there was something about Sirlin doing an early design for it--nothing to do with Turbo HD Remix, at least as far as Wikipedia mentioned. I don't know that I knew that game was such a success, in fact.
