Maybe. It's too expensive.

This is pretty much where I’m at. It seems cool? That’s a decent chunk of change.

I just looked this up. So, it's a shovelware subscription?

hmm, we'll see, but it's mostly from well known folks. it's different from shovelware because with a few exceptions in order to make games for this thing you have to already have enough money to make games like this in your own time without worrying about a return on it.

Expensive? 179 for 24 games and a system. No nintendo or sony stuff will ever have that price... All funky and quirky games. Right up my ally. I hope I will be able to purchase it in europe and won't have to import it from the USA

Because none of you fuckers actually link or describe anything here anymore I had to look it up on my own. It looks...stupid, to be kind. I hope you guys have fun with it.

...I'm pretty sure links are the very foundation of the internet as much now as ever. When you Share on Facebook or Twitter, that's a link. Without a link to content your only other option would be to create your own. This was sort of neither, and we've been getting too many posts like that here. Shape up!

Yes sir! I actually hate the modern internet. On FB you can spend hours searching for something you read just a day ago.

Aw man AltaVista : D

Remember when your lab computer home page was just a link to seven different search engines? And although none of them worked very well compared to today, they didn't have today’s issue which is that every search is considered a product search so no matter what you type in the first three pages are either stuff for sale or squatting pages trying to steer you towards stuff for sale. Also, most of the people you talked to online had read a book recently because they were pretty much all in school. It’s not our imagination that the internet is stupider now. It absolutely is.

I wasn't quite that tuned in to the web that early--the "had read a book recently" part, anyway. But good point about the product search, yeah AltaVista was pretty clean I think, although I could be remembering that wrong.

You were here in 1999 weren’t you? Was that your first day on the Internet? Even then it was massively better. Hell, the XBand network was more well read than Facebook.

I didn't talk to random people on Facebook or Twitter back then, so I don't have that basis of comparison.

Come to think of it, my only basis of comparison might be this board. Technically, I'm reading fewer books now, so I guess you're right.

There was no Facebook or Twitter in 1999, there were very few random people online even. Everyone had some sort of reason, like genealogy or coming here for NGP shit. It wasn’t just a billion bored retards trying to own the other side while shopping for fraudulent products and philosophy. Like you, I also spend double digit percentages of my internet time on this forum. I also read less.
